Nutrition – Why it so important
What is nutrition and why it is vital for health
Nutrition is the study of nutrients in food, how the body uses them, and the relationship between diet health and disease.
Why are nutrients important?
Carbohydrates, fat, proteins, minerals, vitamins, fibre and water provide nourishment to the body and mind enabling us to grow and keep healthy. If we don’t have the correct balance there is a risk of developing various health conditions and poor quality of life.
Food used to be simple . Over the years it has become more processed and more complex. Often resulting in an increase of food allergies, hypersensitivity intolerance and digestive disorders .
A phrase I so often hear is “I have eaten something and I don’t feel good” from digestive disorders, skin conditions, migraines, general tiredness and a runny nose, as you can see it can effect all systems of the body and results in varied symptoms.
One size diet does not fit all so a visit to the Devon Allergy and Digestive Clinic can enable you to know which nutrients work with your body not against it . Thus improving your quality of life.
