April is IBS Awareness Month

April marks IBS Awareness Month – a time to shed light on Irritable Bowel Syndrome, a common but often misunderstood digestive condition affecting around 1 in 7 people in the UK.
IBS can have a significant impact on daily life. Symptoms vary from person to person, but often include abdominal pain, bloating, excess wind, diarrhoea, and/or constipation. While it’s not life-threatening, IBS can be incredibly disruptive and frustrating – especially when flare-ups are unpredictable.
At The Devon Allergy & Digestive Health Clinic, we understand how complex IBS can be. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution, but many people find real relief through a personalised approach. Identifying dietary triggers, underlying gut imbalances, and even emotional stressors can make a huge difference.
We offer expert support in pinpointing food sensitivities, rebalancing the gut microbiome, and improving overall digestive health – using a combination of nutritional therapy, functional testing, and lifestyle guidance.
IBS is often something people feel they have to “just live with,” but that doesn’t have to be the case. With the right support, it’s possible to regain control and feel confident in your body again.
This April, we’re encouraging anyone struggling with IBS symptoms to reach out. Let’s start a conversation, raise awareness, and help more people take steps towards better gut health.
