Marlene Attends World Allergy Organisation Training on Climate Change and Allergies

At Devon Allergy and Digestive Health Clinic, we are committed to staying at the forefront of developments that affect the health and wellbeing of our patients. As part of this commitment, Marlene, will be attending an important training event on Tuesday 23rd June hosted by the World Allergy Organisation (WAO).

The training will focus on the growing relationship between climate change and allergic disease, an area of increasing concern for healthcare professionals worldwide. As global temperatures continue to rise and weather patterns change, researchers are seeing significant impacts on the prevalence and severity of allergies.

Climate change can influence allergy symptoms in several ways. Warmer temperatures and higher carbon dioxide levels can lead to longer pollen seasons and increased pollen production, affecting people with hay fever and allergic asthma. Changes in rainfall, humidity, and air pollution can also contribute to worsening respiratory symptoms and increase exposure to allergens such as mould spores.

The World Allergy Organisation is a leading international body dedicated to advancing excellence in allergy care, education, and research. By attending this specialist training, Marlene will gain the latest evidence-based knowledge on how environmental changes are shaping allergy trends and what healthcare professionals can do to support patients.

The insights gained from this event will help our clinic continue to provide informed, up-to-date advice and treatment for individuals living with allergies. Understanding the impact of climate change on allergic conditions is becoming increasingly important as we work to help patients manage symptoms and improve their quality of life.

We look forward to sharing key learning points from the training with our patients and community in the coming weeks. Continuous professional development ensures that Devon Allergy and Digestive Health Clinic remains dedicated to delivering the highest standards of allergy care.
